About

Julia H. Fonte is a retired psychiatric and hospice nurse living on the edge of Vermont woods. When not writing she preserves wildflowers in three-dimensional form; dries organic herbs; and interacts (from their preferred distance) with a family of ravens. Her publications are listed on the Poems page. Her work is forthcoming in Touchstone, Stone Poetry Quarterly and New England Poetry Club’s 2025 Prize Winners Anthology. Two of her poems were selected as finalists in the 2025 NEPC E. E. Cummings Prize and the 2025 Vermont Writer’s Prize; two poems were named Honorable Mentions in the 2025 HEART Poetry Award and 2025 Touchstone Ekphrastic Poetry Contest.
