Ekphrastic Show Opening Was A Success!

Over 60 visual artists, poets and guests attended the reception at Stone Valley Arts and stayed for the hour-long gathering where both poets and artists talked about their processes and reactions to this wonderful experience of responding to each others’ work. Most collaborators met for the first time that day. Many folks returned to the show during July and August to spend more time with over 40 pairs of collaborative works. Artist Melissa Weiss and I co-curated the show and want to express our thanks to every artist and writer that made this show possible.

I will be posting my 2 poems along with the collaborative artwork in my Poems section.

2025 New England Poetry Club E. E. Cummings Prize

So humbled that my poem, “A pea deprived a princess of sleep,” was selected as a Finalist by Chard de Niord. The NEPC is a wonderful organization and resource for New England poets, though this and other annual contests are open to anyone. Editor, David Miller, is very supportive and so easy to work with. The Poetry Society of Vermont and NEPC will present their first event together, “The Collaborative Poet: A Day of Readings and Workshop” on October 4, 2025 in Brattleboro, VT. Free to members of NEPC and PSOV. Plan for a colorful fall day – check out the details NEPC.

07/17/25 Grateful to have my poem, “Meadow Prayer” selected as an Honorable Mention by Greg Held. The Winner and Honorable Mentions will be published in HEART 20 by the end of 2025.
