The Milk House has nominated my poem, “Grieving Horses,” for a Best of the Net award. Much thanks to Editor Ryan Dennis for this wonderful surprise.
“If I Were a Kid, This Would Be My Kingdom”
I am thrilled this poem will appear in Touchstone, Issue 68.2, which will be released in November. This is the print literary journal of the Poetry Society of New Hampshire, and it is fully-voiced, so the audio edition will be available on their website. Thanks so much to Editor Melissa Sprague and the Touchstone Editorial Team.
Ekphrastic Show Opening Was A Success!
Over 60 visual artists, poets and guests attended the reception at Stone Valley Arts and stayed for the hour-long gathering where both poets and artists talked about their processes and reactions to this wonderful experience of responding to each others’ work. Most collaborators met for the first time that day. Many folks returned to the show during July and August to spend more time with over 40 pairs of collaborative works. Artist Melissa Weiss and I co-curated the show and want to express our thanks to every artist and writer that made this show possible.
I will be posting my 2 poems along with the collaborative artwork in my Poems section.

2025 New England Poetry Club E. E. Cummings Prize
So humbled that my poem, “A pea deprived a princess of sleep,” was selected as a Finalist by Chard de Niord. The NEPC is a wonderful organization and resource for New England poets, though this and other annual contests are open to anyone. Editor, David Miller, is very supportive and so easy to work with. The Poetry Society of Vermont and NEPC will present their first event together, “The Collaborative Poet: A Day of Readings and Workshop” on October 4, 2025 in Brattleboro, VT. Free to members of NEPC and PSOV. Plan for a colorful fall day – check out the details NEPC.
“While the Crow Played”
It seemed I had just signed off after submitting today, though it had been just over an hour, when Stone Poetry Quarterly accepted this poem for its November issue. What a wonderful online journal with so many unique, well crafted poems! Only poems! Enjoy, indulge.
“If not a miracle, then what”
Today I learned Braided Way will be publishing my poem. This spiritual magazine is full of literature, art, perspectives, religion, mysticism, personal journeys and more, and Editor Laura Weldon is a delight to work with.
“Half Moons Have Always Been Toothless,” “Genetics of Paternal Love,” and “My Grove”
08/02/25 Looking forward to three of my poems being published on September 1st by Verse-Virtual, an online poetry journal that encourages community and positive communication among its contributors. Editor, Jim Lewis, responds quicker than rain drops dribbling down a window.
